specialist training, he was the first neurology physician to be trained at
Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in the Department. He was also the first
overseas-trained neuro-interventional fellow at the Erlanger Medical Center,

the busiest hospitals for the clot retrieval procedure in the entire country.
Dr. Winters is originally from New Zealand and considers himself the
privileged few who have become neurology specialists with dual training
in neurointervention. His interests are stroke, idiopathic intracranial
hypertension, carotid atherosclerosis, and aneurysm treatments.
